One day I&#8217;ll <a href=\"https:\/\/paperwriter.org\/\">audit<\/a> one of his classes at Stanford.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"book_pz\" class=\"books_entry\">\n<div class=\"books_cover\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"book_desc\"><span class=\"bookrectitle\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Presentation-Zen-Simple-Design-Delivery\/dp\/0321525655\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1256233081&amp;sr=8-1\">Presentation Zen<\/a><\/span> by Garr Reynolds<br \/>\nYou know I&#8217;m a big believer in <a href=\"\/blog\/2009\/09\/we-pres-example\/\">web presentations<\/a> and Garr&#8217;s book is a great place to start learning about making great presentations.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"book_poss\" class=\"books_entry\">\n<div class=\"books_cover\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"book_desc\"><span class=\"bookrectitle\"><a href=\"http:\/\/producingoss.com\">Producing Open Source Software<\/a><\/span> by Karl Fogel<br \/>\nKarl&#8217;s book illustrates all of the different pieces it takes to make an open source project successful. You may never work in the open source community, but their projects contend with all the difficult problems of telecommuting teams. This one is kind of techie.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"book_send\" class=\"books_entry\">\n<div class=\"books_cover\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"book_desc\"><span class=\"bookrectitle\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Send-Essential-Guide-Email-Office\/dp\/B002ECEIFA\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1256125809&amp;sr=8-1\">Send<\/a><\/span> by David Shipley and Will Schwalbe<br \/>\nIn the category of writing well, this is a simple little book about writing email written by two writers from the New York Times. Simple, clear, and very helpful.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"book_slide\" class=\"books_entry\">\n<div class=\"books_cover\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"book_desc\"><span class=\"bookrectitle\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.duarte.com\">Slide:ology<\/a><\/span> by Nancy Duarte<br \/>\nIn keeping with my love of <a href=\"\/blog\/2009\/10\/3-more-tips\/\">good presentations<\/a> Nancy&#8217;s book has some great tips and wonderful examples. I would read this one after Presentation Zen, but they both work well together.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"book_spunk\" class=\"books_entry\">\n<div class=\"books_cover\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"book_desc\"><span class=\"bookrectitle\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.spunkandbite.com\/\">Spunk &amp; Bite<\/a><\/span> by Arthur Plotnik<br \/>\nArthur takes on the the sacred cow of The Elements of Style and provides numerous pithy writing tips along the way. This book changed my writing and took away my fear of sentence fragments.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"book_trust\" class=\"books_entry\">\n<div class=\"books_cover\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"book_desc\"><span class=\"bookrectitle\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trustagent.com\">Trust Agents<\/a><\/span> by Chris Brogan and Julien Smith<br \/>\nBuilding trust with social media has a lot in common with building it on a telecommuting team. Learning how to connect with other people and make your team happier to work with you.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>My reading shortlist<\/h2>\n<p>I&#8217;m always looking for new books about telecommuting.
