Hiring teleworkers is a stressful experience. Work shifting takes a specific set of skills that are difficult to evaluate in an interview. Even worse, it takes a lot of time and money to find out that you hired the wrong person.

That’s why I created a system for evaluating which candidates make good teleworkers. It looks at seven talents of effective teleworkers and gives you tips for how to evaluate them. Teleworkers are a diverse and talented group of people, but every successful teleworker I’ve spoken with has each of these seven talents.
