Assimilating to a school of our size can be daunting, but the PTA Newcomers Committee is here to help. Our mission is to ease the transition of new families into the school and community. We have a variety of programs for new families including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Principal&#8217;s Teas with Mrs. O<\/strong> \u2013 Our own Bells Mill Principal will host a tea toward the beginning of the school year for all Bells Mill parents.\u00a0 This is an opportunity to learn about school programs from Mrs. O, also to meet other Bells Mill parents.\u00a0 Dates as follows:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Principal&#8217;s Teas <\/strong><br \/>\nGrades K and 1 &#8211; October 26, 2011<br \/>\nGrades 2 and 3 &#8211; November 9, 2011<br \/>\nGrades 4 and 5 &#8211; November 16, 2011<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Room Parent System<\/strong> \u2013 Each new family will be put in contact with the room parent(s) of their child\/children\u2019s classroom(s). These room parents are friendly contacts, who will be available to answer any and all questions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>PTA Buddy Family Program <\/strong>\u2013 We&#8217;re trying something new this year! We are starting a &#8220;buddy program,&#8221; that matches up new Bells Mill families (throughout the year) with other families in our Bells Mill community. Please fill out <a href=\"Forms\/Buddy Family flyer.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">this form<\/a> if you would like to be a &#8220;Buddy Family&#8221; and be matched-up with a new Bells Mill family. And, for new families, please email <a href=\"mailto:ktsonn@gmail.com\">Katie Sonnabend<\/a> if you are are Bells Mill newcomer and would like a &#8220;Buddy Family&#8221; to show you the ropes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We\u2019re happy that you are here!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1 align=\"center\">GETTING STARTED CHECKLIST<\/h1>\n<p><strong>1. Contact the Bells Mill ES School Office<\/strong><br \/>\nEnroll your child or children at Bells Mill. The office will notify the Newcomers Committee of your arrival. However, we also encourage you to also contact the Newcomers Committee directly by sending an email to <a href=\"mailto:ktsonn@gmail.com\">Katie Sonnabend<\/a> or <a href=\"mailto:pashkoff@verizon.net\">Dana Pashkoff<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Spirit Wear<\/strong><br \/>\nWe love our Bells Mill gear! We sell Bells Mill T-shirts and other apparel and gear at a few events at the beginning of the school year.
